Low Slope EPDM Rubber Membrane

What is EPDM Rubber Roofing?

EPDM rubber  (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer)  is a durable synthetic rubber membrane typically used to weather proof low slope homes and commercial buildings from slopes  0:12 (flat) to 2:12 . EPDM is installed using liquid adhesive and is rather simple to do. EPDM is available in both black and white and sold in two thicknesses 40 mils and 60 mils. Choosing the lighter color can help with the energy efficiency of your home, but gets dirtier easier.

Cost Effective

EPDM is one of the cheapest forms of roofing, typically costing between $40 – $150 per square (10ft x 10ft section). This is due to its easy installation and cost effective materials.

Longevity

Properly installed EPDM rubber roofs last anywhere between 20 and 40 years. Since EPDM rubber is laid on low slope/flat roofs, wind damage concern is very low which adds to its longevity.

Installation and Repair

EPDM rubber is installed using liquid adhesive that is rolled onto the roof and adheres the pieces of EPDM rubber together. This process is rather simple and quick, which makes it a fast and easy solution to getting your low slope roof weather proof.  Plus, due to the nature of EPDM rubber roofing it is easily patchable if damaged.
